BANG! BANG! Presents : Freezepop
w/ Dj Matt McCoy , Dewtron, special guest Noirtech!
This is going to be a show to remember, McCoy is pulling out all the stops for Boston’s Freezepop.
Saturday night is going to be insanely awesome, Not only do you have Arizona’s best DJs putting up the most danceable and rocking hits but you also have one of the biggest (read: featured on Guitar hero II and upcoming Rock Band… come on, video games are the new commercial spot) live electronic bands setting up and busting out a true night of electro pop. Earlier we Had !!!(chk chk chk) play Bang Bang! and now we have Freeze pop!? When it rains it pours, check out the video for the song “Less Talk More Rokk”
Boston’s premiere electro-pop trio shows it can have space-age fun without succumbing to novelty status. Obviously there’s more to this ’80s fascination than many thought. Liz Enthusiasm’s ironically deadpan singing brings elements of absurd humor and, in a few spots, melancholy to the table.
- Christopher John Treacy, The Boston Herald
Though sloppy guitars and having a knack for drug-related arrests are de rigueur in the tastemaking music scene right now, Massachusetts-based trio Freezepop are sticking to their guns—which happen to be fully loaded with sleek, unapologetic electro-pop.
Their latest release, Future Future Future Perfect, shows the team taking their electronica seriously, playing it cool and aloof in true Euro-techno fashion, while adding their own cheeky pop flourishes. So, we caught up with Freezepop to ask them which of their favorite albums influenced their sound and which ones they simply couldn’t live without. - Artist Direct - Top 10 picks - sept 07
