A Cambodian Pop-Rock-Psychedelic dance party!

IT’S AN OUTBREAK! Someone call Dustin Hoffman and Cuba Gooding…and watch out for that monkey! Just kidding — but seriously, Dengue Fever will pop music your face off!

For those who haven’t heard of this AWESOME band, it’s hard to describe without dramatic gesticulations and a team of colorfully dressed hair stylists doing swaying, choreographed dance moves all around us while crazy undulating colors are projected on a blue screen behind us! It’s like Os Mutantes doing Flaming Lips doing their serious ’60s pop.

This is what the International herald Tribune had to say about their new album:

It too offers a cultural mash-up; beyond the obscure Cambodian pop you can hear psychedelia, spaghetti western guitars, the lounge groove of Ethiopian soul and Bollywood soundtracks. “Seeing Hands,” on the new album, has an almost Funkadelic groove, while “Sober Driver” is an all but emo complaint about a guy who drives the cute girl everywhere and gets nowhere.
