FREE FRIDAY NIGHT SHOW!!

The Solce Brothers! and The May Fire.

The Solace Brothers!

Guitar, drums, & keyboard. Somehow The Solace Brothers emulate a sound much bigger than your average trio. The brothers have opened for Built to Spill, Yo La Tengo, Calexico & TapeOpCon.

The Solace Bros have assembled quite an international fan base and a formidable local contingent Tucson. If you’ve not had a chance to see them live, make sure to get on down here tonight.

Head over to Thier myspace or home page to check some streaming music.
Review of thier album: thinking of you:

SoundbitesFollowing two fantastic EPs, The Solace Bros. will finally release I Think of You. (Water Closet Sounds), their full-length nine-song debut this week. The somewhat unorthodox three-piece (guitar, organ and drums, plus vocals) specializes in a unique brand of feel-good quirk-pop that we can’t recommend highly enough. (Look for an upcoming feature article on the band in these pages.) Performing along with the Bros. as part of their release party are blistering Seattle speed-punks the Catheters (stepping in after L.A.’s Run Run Run had to cancel), whose third album, Howling … It Grows and Grows!!!, will be released on Sub Pop next month, and the excellent local hook-laden rock trio The DeLudes.

Stephen Seigel, Tucson Weekly

Joining them is the May Fire

Catchy pop, thrashing punk, great choruses and did we just hear some Rock en Espanol! I think we did! The best indie rock Berkeley has to offer is coming at us at light speed. The May Fire’s style encompasses so much so quickly, we think

that they might have tapped into the speed force. (that’s a Flash reference for al

l the comic book nerds). Check out what regular press people have been saying about The May Fire:

PerformerMag (2007)
A fearless maturity and an unrelenting tone that achieves both an aggressive punch and an acutely sensitive touch
Rolling Stone (2006) -Deja claro que lo suyo es la energĂa
Owl Mag (2008) -Anyone seeking a big, new, bright blip on their punk radar couldn’t ask for much more .. The May Fire just made indie rock a lot sexier.
