This week in April is the collective birthday of some of Tucson’s most renowned musicians. The TLA is making a their rare yearly excursion to club congress to do their voodoo magic on all of us. Here’s a little back ground on the TLA, it was deciphered from ancient runes discovered underneath the city’s ancient maze of catacombs.

The Tucson Legend’s Alliance was formed in the 16th century by three native musicians. All born on the Third week of 1533, they were part of every festival, every wedding, every, rain dance. These guys didn’t miss a night of music. Since then, legend has it that those born on that third week in April have a musical super-talent, strange personalities, & must dedicate their lives to the Tucson Music Scene. Traditionally, the TLA gathers on the Friday of that Birthday week to rock the house, if you will.

Every year we have a birthday show and every year it’s completely insane, so come early. Feel free to brings gifts, party favors and birthday suits… err scratch that last one.in the spirit of giving and taking a page from the JC play book , the birthday boys are throwing this little Shindig For FREE. Their gift to you!

Silver Fox- Glam rock to the fullest, you may remember their very memorable performance as Sweet at this past Great Cover Up. I think it’s safe to say to call them, in the most endearing way, Tucson ’s most loved stage whores.

Molehill Orkestrah has not one, but two birthdays to celebrate. Both Cliff & Katy get a big slice of cake. Gypsyrific & sweet like honey, Molehill mixes the mandolin, baritone tuba, cello, violin, soprano saxophone, electric upright bass, percussion, & guitar.

“The Desert Gypsy propheteers of Molehill are nothing short of mesmerizing every time they set out…Its a downright riveting combo: Gypsy music mixed with touches of Klezmer, Slavic, and Middle Eastern sounds. And perhaps most refreshing of all, Molehill plays with a verve that makes me want to describe the band in terms most often reserved for punk rock: Molehill plays with a primal urgency that is undeniable.” -Stephen Seigel, The Tucson Weekly

The F.a.n.s.s = How can a Birthday night be held with out including possibly the sexiest Tucson supergroup: The Fuck All Night Superstars. Be Careful though, chances are they will ruffee their own drinks and demand to be taken advantage of. Birthdays for two very lovely men. one who used to dress as a woman regularly and one who used to stand on one leg while playing guitar.
