The Metal Shakespeare
After Don Jennings’ going away show, stick around for the coolest /most avant metal band around:

The Metal Shakespeare Company
The Metal Shakespeare Company are coming in this Sunday for a very special FREE show. How would we describe them? Well, we figure it’s pretty easy.
Kind of funny, something that seems to have been made as a joke actually turned out to be a rocking album. The first thing that came to mind when I listened to this was vintage Maiden; some of the riffs presented on this CD could have been stolen from Maidens self-titled album or even Killers. The sound and vibe of this album definitely have that early eighties spirit. The music is simple and easily digestible and Shakespearian buffs will definitely get a kick out of the lyrical content. The vocals can be slightly grating at parts (The Ballad of Isabella), but overall it works with the raw style of the music/production. Another slight drawback are the lyrics themselves. Sometimes the whole Shakespeare thing doesn’t work all that well within a metal format. I am genuinely looking forward to what these guys will do in the future though. - e-metal.com
Lord Simms, lead singer of the Shakespeare power metal outfit Dagger of the Mind (and my roommate) recklessly jumps on top of a table at the Tube, knocking over a drink which spills onto his green tights. As fill-in drummer Lady Beren makes a final crash on her cymbals, a sweat-soaked dude sweeps his hair out of his face and turns to me and says, “That was awesome!” - musicfest diaries- williamette week
