PHAT Entertainment, in association with Hometown Heroes and Corbin Dooley proudly presents 2Mex, of the Visionaries, with support from Phoenix’s The Smob, Verble, Tucson’s Effin’ Sumbodies, James Ciphurphace with DJ Grapla, and the CCS Crew, on a very special Friday, August 8, 2008. Club Congress is located inside the historic Hotel Congress at 311 E. Congress St., Tucson, Arizona. Doors open at 10pm. 21+ only. 2Mex is quickly earning the title of The Hardest Working Man in Underground Hip-Hop with over 50 album credits to date. Hailing from Mid-City, this Los Angeles underground veteran began building his name as one half of OMD (Of Mexican Descent, with partner Xololxinxco). After joining and touring the world with his group, Visionaries, 2Mex has proven to be a true emcee that has genuinely touched the pulse of the hip-hop community, weaving together disparate influences including Adam Ant, Rilo Kiley, A Tribe Called Quest, Justin Warfield, Slick Rick, and ABC. After the release of two Visionaries albums, “Galleries,” and “Sophomore Jinx,” on Up Above Records, and an album with OMD “Exitos Y Mas Exitos,” on Nerve Deafness Records, his solo effort “B-Boys in Occupied Mexico” (MEMO Records) fulfilled his quest for unique wordplay combined with rugged production.
