KXCI has been doing its part to keep Tucson hip for years, and they have treated us with more than a couple amazing live shows at the same time. This Wednesday, KXCI is hosting a benefit show with special guest Bitter:Sweet!!!!!

Bitter:Sweet’s trademark blend of Shana Halligan’s sexy & sweet vocals with Kiran Shahani’s jazzy, groove-funk electronica have earned the duo numerous musical placements in TV & film from “Grey’s Anatomy” and “The Devil Wears Prada” to “Lipstick Jungle” and “Law and Order.” In 2000, Kiran emerged on the scene as a founding member of The Supreme Beings of Leisure. Shana is also no stranger to the music industry - her father Dick Halligan was a founding member of revered brass-rock band Blood, Sweat & Tears. Together, Kiran and Shana have created one of the most seductive interpretations of retro swank and hot beats, with widespread critical acclaim from publications as disparate as Urb & People. Returning to Tucson in support of their recently released sophomore album, “Drama,” Bitter:Sweet’s live show consists of a five-member band creating a sonic palette reminiscent of Portishead, Zero 7 and Everything But the Girl.
