Harry and the Potters are coming to Congress for what they call The Unlimited Enthusiasm Expo ‘08. so what does that mean? well its obvious that the Harry and the Potters boys have tapped into some infinite power supply to fuel their enthusiasm. Rumor around the mill is that the boys have are all about this thing called love. Its their only weapon they say. What does that mean for us? Well, with this new found limitless supply of enthusiasm, they are coming to every town in these united states and sharing the love. So, its up to you , and your children and your fathers and your sister and brothers and nieces and aunt , uncles and nephews, neighbors and acquaintances , wizards of every school and every blood linage to come out and experience what Harry and the Potters are offering. Why? because Voldermort cant stop the rock.

Warriors Of The Make Believe

W.O.M.B. has always been difficult to define. Ever since the Valley band’s debut LP, 1999’s Warriors of Make Believe, the group has been producing thematically diverse music that ranges from the playful and poppy to the haunting and experimental. Now that singer/guitarist Marta Wiley and drummer Cristiana Cole have parted ways with their original bassist and found four new members, it’s anyone’s guess how the retooled group’s eclecticism will manifest itself. Undeniably talented songwriters, Wiley and Cole have a much broader musical canvas with which to work. Joined by a new bassist, violinist, keyboardist, and dancer, they have promised to take their music and stage show in a new direction with their upcoming concert, which has been billed as the band’s “rebirth.” While W.O.M.B. may make a transition to a more epic rock opera sound, fans can expect the all-female band to stay true to its roots. Continuing to pay homage to a diverse group of influences including Pink Floyd, The Pixies and The Police, the band will perform fan favorites like “Sound of Silence,” “Shoot Me,” and “Sex Will Sell.”

Founded in 2002, Boys R Us is Tucson’s premier gender performance troupe. They are a collective of gender queers coming together to create a roller coaster ride of emotion, imagery, ideas and entertainment. Exploring varying perspectives of gender bending including identity, exploring the yin and yang of gender and societal roles, image, self-esteem, self-projection and identification, Boys R Us pushes the envelope of gender transformation to confront underlying social issues. This validates the “struggle” and provides common ground to communicate ideas of breaking through society’s dichotomous roles and questioning preconceived notions surrounding gender. Expanding peoples’ minds about what gender is, is not, and what it could be; masculine, feminine and everything in between, Boys R Us is gender bending at its finest.

NEEDTOBREATHE

Named after the University of Alabama football coach Paul “Bear” Bryant, brothers Bear and Bryant “Bo” Rinehart were born and spent much of their childhood in rural Possum Kingdom, SC, where their pastor father ran a church camp. After moving to nearby Seneca, the two siblings were exposed to a variety of music, and started playing instruments themselves. While at Furman University, Bear, besides being an excellent wide receiver (he won the 2002 Banks McFadden trophy for South Carolina football player of the year), also sang and played the guitar and piano, and started performing on-campus with longtime friend and drummer Joe Stillwell. Bo, who was studying architecture at Clemson, was also a guitarist, and he and bassist Joe Bolt joined the duo to form Needtobreathe. Soon, they had recorded and released their own EPs at Bolt’s Plantation Studios (Bolt had received a degree in recording engineering) and started a strenuous tour of Southeastern and Midwestern America. Their hard work paid off when they came to the attention of Atlantic/Lava Records, who signed the band in 2005. In 2006 Needtobreathe released their debut full-length album, Daylight (the cover of which was painted by Bo), recorded in British Heliocentric Studios with Keane producer Andy Green. Tour dates over the year with acts like Train, Collective Soul, and Will Hoge followed before the guys were back in the studio that December to begin work on their follow-up. NEEDSTOBREATH has been featured on just about every TV show and movie in 2007 . from ESPN to the movie P.S. i Love You and MTV.

  We know what you are thinking , which one of these levi clad v-nick laden youngsters is Capitan Squeegee and who make up the soapsuds. We’ll We dont know.  and if we did we would tell you.   If you ask them a blind date question like”  how would you descirbe your kissing style they would say:Like a monsoon storm, Captain Squeegee and the Soap Suds roar across the desert floor, drenching you with powerful horns, tight vocal harmonies and pure energetic stage presence. With skills that belie their youth, they combine jazz, rock, punk and ska into something brand new. Squeegee music. And like the monsoon, it will blow you straight back.”

It’s true, they said it themselves.
