($25-$35 Tickets + DICE fees | 6:30pm & 8:30pm Shows) Tenor saxophonist Cory Weeds teams up with powerhouse organist Chris Hazelton to deliver a hard-swinging night of music in the classic organ quartet format. Joined by the soulful guitar stylings of David Rourke and the impeccable groove of drummer Rudy Petschauer, this group brings a perfect blend of grit, swing, and soul to the stage. The chemistry between Weeds’ robust, lyrical tenor sound and Hazelton’s deep-pocket Hammond organ playing makes for an irresistible combination that channels the golden era of jazz organ groups.

Audiences can expect a dynamic program filled with blues-drenched originals, cleverly arranged standards, and a surprising twist: reimagined versions of songs from Huey Lewis and the News’ iconic Sports album from 1983. Whether diving into a greasy shuffle, stretching out on a ballad, or giving new life to a pop classic, this quartet’s energy and musicality promise a performance that is both steeped in tradition and refreshingly inventive.

His albums have been produced by music icons such as Phil Ramone and 16-time Grammy winner David Foster, while the New York Times raves he’s ‘Going On Legend.’

Retro Game Show Night Presents Battle Mimes!

Big masks, bigger laughs, and absolutely zero dignity.

Now in its 14th year, Retro Game Show Night is Tucson’s longest-running live comedy show featuring wildly funny, fast-paced parodies of classic TV game shows that keeps audiences coming back month after month.

Join us Saturday, November 8 at Hotel Congress for Battle Mimes, the charades showdown that makes silence scream!

Hosted by Chatty Kathee (effortlessly effervescent), with executive assistant Swish Manley (seriously sequined), and celebrity guests Fulta Burstyn (delightfully decadent) and Nelmar 27 McGee (adorably anomalous).

Tickets are $15 each, available at GoldenGravy.com, at the Hotel Congress front desk, or at the door on the night of the show (if not sold out). Doors open at 6pm, show starts at 7pm. 18+

Come see why Retro Game Show Night has been keeping Tucson laughing for over a decade — where the games are ridiculous, the prizes questionable, and the fun absolutely guaranteed!

($20-$30 Tickets + DICE fees | 6:30pm & 8:30pm Shows) Join the Tucson Modern Jazz Quartet for the release of their debut album, 8 Myths—a genre-bending exploration of modern jazz, mythology, and groove.

Blending original compositions with forward-looking interpretations, the Tucson Modern Jazz Quartet pushes the boundaries of the jazz tradition with deep grooves, lush harmonies, and fearless improvisation. The group features the dynamic interplay of Keaton Wilson (keys/synth), Zach White (drums), Patrick Morris (bass), and Trey Bryant (saxophone).

Recorded at St. Cecilia Studios in Tucson, 8 Myths is a vivid journey through eight evocative tracks—each one a sonic take on a different kind of myth, from folkloric funk (“Sasquatch”) to surreal electronic lo-fi soundscapes (“A Goddess Technicolor”) to third-stream montunos (“Messiaen Around”). The album features original compositions by Wilson, Morris, and Bryant, and melds modern jazz with elements of funk, fusion, and electronic sound design.

Come celebrate a night of myth-making, music, and movement as the TMJQ brings their debut record to life at Southern Arizona’s premier jazz venue — live and loud. Expect some special guests, details on how to get your hands on the album, and two completely distinct sets.

For over a century, the Hotel Congress has stood at the heart of Tucson, a living witness to the city’s history—and to those who refuse to leave it behind. Built in 1919, the hotel was designed for travelers stepping off the Southern Pacific line, with guest rooms, a café, a beauty shop, a barber, and the now-famous Tap Room bar. Yet beneath the grandeur of its architecture lies something far older: the land itself has been continuously inhabited for thousands of years, making Tucson one of North America’s oldest, and most haunted, living communities.

On this 30-minute walking tour, you’ll be let in on the hotel’s best-kept secrets. Meet the lace-shrouded lady of the staircase, drifting through the lobby trailing the faint scent of roses; the Victorian Gentleman in Room 214, quietly surveying the plaza in seersucker and top hat; the Locksmith’s Apprentice, tinkering at unseen locks; Vince, the butter-knife handyman, still tending to his work decades after his passing; and the Lady in White, whose presence has startled more than a few male guests. You’ll even hear the story of infamous bank robber John Dillinger, who passed through Hotel Congress in 1934 before a fire exposed his gang’s presence and led to his capture—without a single shot fired.

The tour wraps up in the rarely seen séance room, a space of quiet reflection, lingering echoes, and centuries of footsteps—perfect for anyone curious enough to step just a little closer to the unexplained. It’s more than a ghost tour; it’s a backstage pass to a living portrait of Hotel Congress, where history, humanity, and spirits mingle in plain sight.

Please note: the elevator was destroyed in the famous 1934 fire—guests must climb one flight of stairs to reach the haunted rooms.

The easiest way to explain ELIJAH’s music is his Spotify bio: “art from the pain”. With each ear-worm hook, rage-inducing breakdown, and perfectly placed lyric, it’s understandable why so many fans have already claimed ELIJAH as their favorite artist. Whether it’s moshing to EASY TO DROWN, or reminiscing to GUILTY, his most recent single, there’s a song for every rock lover in the young artist’s set. And with the release of SKIN on March 7th, a new chapter of ELIJAH’s career begins. One that is louder, more sincere, more vulnerable, and with much more to prove.

Songwriter Joey Wit makes his debut appearance on the Hotel Congress Plaza stage! This time he is joined by up-and-coming Tucson band Porcelain Scorpion!

If Joey Wit had only been a short-lived professional baseball player, that would have been enough of a legacy to satisfy his adventurous spirit. But after three years and multiple concussions, when his career ended abruptly, he was blessed with the hard-earned realization that he never felt as alive or awake in athletics as he did writing and performing music. As a boy who grew up listening to classic rock in the likes of the Beatles and Stones, while drowning in guitar catalogs before and between little league games, his homecoming back to music was both a dream and the hardest thing he’s ever done, yet where he’s supposed to be.

Arthur has been inducted into the Arizona Blues Hall of Fame, was a finalist at the 2010 and 2014 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN, and in his 30+ years of performing has played on some of the world’s greatest stages, including Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow as part of the sold out Kings of Boogie Tour, Birdland Jazz Club in New York City, Benaroya Hall in Seattle, as well as on National Public Radio in the US. As a star of the critically acclaimed Off Broadway show BOOGIE STOMP!, Arthur also performed at the Elektra Theater in Times Square, NYC for five months in 2015.

In 2014 he received the Best of the Blues Award for Best Keyboardist in Washington State and his album Laying It Down reached #20 on the national Roots Music Report chart, and appeared on the GRAMMY Entry List for the 2015 Grammy award nominations.

($10-$15 + DICE fees | 6:30pm & 8pm Sets) Nick Coventry, Matt Mitchell, Evan Dain & Marco Rosano form the swinging Hot Club of Tucson Trio! The group plays jazz manouche in the style of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappeli. The band starts at 6:30pm. Every 2nd Wednesday!

Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli were pivotal figures in the development of jazz in Europe, particularly through their groundbreaking work with the Quintette du Hot Club de France in the 1930s. Reinhardt, a Belgian-born Romani guitarist, overcame a debilitating hand injury to pioneer a unique style of jazz guitar that combined virtuosic speed, expressive phrasing, and gypsy musical traditions. Grappelli, a classically trained French violinist, brought elegance and melodic sophistication to jazz improvisation, helping elevate the violin as a serious jazz instrument. Together, their collaboration fused American swing with European sensibilities, laying the foundation for what became known as “Gypsy Jazz” and influencing generations of musicians worldwide.

***”Hot Jazz Wednesdays”** take you back to the roots of jazz with music from the 1920s and ’30s. Every 2nd Wednesday is reserved for the Hot Club of Tucson, which performs French Jazz Manouche in the style of Django Reinhardt & Stéphane Grappelli. Every 4th Wednesday features Marco & The Polos performing music from New Orleans & Chicago.*

Zoso: The Ultimate Led Zeppelin Experience

Celebrating their 30th anniversary in 2025, Zoso has become one of the most iconic and respected Led Zeppelin tribute experiences in the world, having played over 4,800 shows across the globe. Known for their unparalleled dedication to faithfully recreating the legendary band’s live performances, Zoso has earned accolades from both critics and fans alike.

Zoso’s live performances focus on the raw energy and intricate musicality of Led Zeppelin’s best-known hits and deeper tracks, with a particular emphasis on recreating their live show experience. The band’s commitment to authenticity has earned them praise from major outlets, with the LA Times calling them “head and shoulders above all other Led Zeppelin tributes,” and the St. Petersburg Times describing them as “the most exacting of all the Led Zeppelin tributes.”

The band was founded in 1995 by Matt Jernigan and Adam Sandling, both of whom are renowned for their exceptional musicianship and passion for Led Zeppelin’s music. Jernigan, who takes on the colossal role of Robert Plant, has a commanding stage presence that rivals the icon himself. Sandling, who brings John Paul Jones to life, masterfully plays bass, keyboards, and mandolin, replicating the multifaceted talent of the Zeppelin legend.

In 2015, Bevan Davies joined Zoso on drums to master the part of John Bonham. An accomplished touring and studio drummer with a resume that includes playing with such artists as Danzig, Jerry Cantrell (of Alice in Chains), and Static X and many more. Davies brings an unmistakable power and precision to Zoso’s live shows, helping the band recreate Bonham’s legendary drum sound. His performance of Bonham’s legendary Moby Dick is something to behold.

In 2025, at the age of 24, Holston Rainero joined the band, taking on the monumental guitar role of Jimmy Page. A fan of Zoso, Rainero didn’t let an opportunity slip away when he learned of an opening in the band’s lineup. His story read like something straight out of a movie script; Rainero reached out directly to the band through social media to request an audition. While dozens of musicians had already contacted the band with no success, Rainero’s determination set him apart.

Refusing to take no for an answer, he began uploading videos of himself playing classic songs from the band in his bedroom. It didn’t take long for the band to recognize his extraordinary talent. His playing was not just skilled, it was a truly inspired performance, with the technical mastery and soul that made it clear he was something special.

The band immediately got him to Atlanta for an in-person audition. Rainero, ever ready, arrived with his bags packed, knowing he was prepared to seize the moment. His live audition exceeded all expectations, and within days, he was on tour with the band, stepping into one of rock history’s most iconic roles.

After starting out 2025 touring with Zakk Wylde on the Zakk Sabbath tour. The band has now embarked on its 30th anniversary headlining tour. New dates for the tour are being added every week with the hopes of reaching 150 shows this year. Find your tickets at Zosoontour.com and come relive the live Zeppelin show as it was played back in the day!

LAERZ is an LA based electronic artist known for delivering high-voltage live sets that blur the line between performance and production. Using a mix of vocal layering, synths, drum pads, and looping, he builds each track in real time, weaving in samples and original sound designs to create a set that’s never the same twice.

His sound hits with intention. Deep basslines, infectious rhythms, and an energy that pulls you in and keeps you moving. Whether it’s a packed club, a festival stage, or through your headphones, LAERZ delivers music built to be felt, not just heard.

From viral moments to international sets, his momentum is undeniable, and he’s just getting started.

Classmates of the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz, Devin Daniels and Julien Knowles quickly forged a frontline bond during the two-year fellowship program, where they were mentored by several legendary jazz artists including Billy Childs, Walter Smith III, and Herbie Hancock. Since graduating in 2023 the two have begun forging their own individually intertwined career paths.

An Inglewood, CA native, Daniels’ rare ability to balance versatility with uncompromising individuality has led him to perform in the bands of Gerald Clayton, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson and John Beasley. Perhaps most notably in 2024 Daniels was invited by Hancock to join him on a four-week tour across the United States alongside highly acclaimed bandmates in Terence Blanchard, Chris Potter and Lionel Loueke. As for Knowles, since moving to Los Angeles in 2021 he has quickly become one of the most sought-after musicians in LA’s creative music scene for his unwavering musical sensitivity and honest improvisation. Knowles has toured the United States with Louis Cole and—just as Daniels did— has shared sideman performances with Gerald Clayton and Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, in addition to Billy Mohler and Sasha Berliner.

Knowles and Daniels have collectively led bands featuring LA’s most prominent voices of today including Steve Lehman, Justin Brown, David Binney, Paul Cornish, Chris Fishman, Jonathan Pinson, Nicole McCabe and Christian Euman. They have performed alongside one another on numerous festival stages including Angel City Jazz, Central Jazz, Minaret Jazz and Camp FLOG GNAW, and are each consistently core members of the others’ ensemble. This is the case for both of their standout releases of 2024— Daniels’ fiery live album LesGo! (Sam First Records) and Knowles’ impassioned debut As Many, as One (Biophilia Records) were both celebrated in NPR’s “Essential Jazz Discoveries of 2024.”

Standing together as two of the most unique and undeniable voices emerging from Los Angeles’ rapidly evolving creative music landscape, the classmates-turned-collaborators officially joined forces to record a new co-led project last year entitled Now Then, aiming to pay homage to this music’s rich history while simultaneously ushering in a new generation of interpretation.

Featuring a myriad of American songbook re-imaginings alongside a collection of original material, Now Then is a collaborative coalition of the leading young jazz scene in America and an album of visionary art and sonic progression. Daniels and Knowles are joined by bassist Jermaine Paul (Gerald Clayton, Julius Rodriguez, Diane Reeves) and drummer JK Kim (Aaron Parks, Meshell Ndegeocello, Dayna Stephens), with special guest—and album producer—pianist Paul Cornish (Joshua Redman, Immanuel Wilkins, Terrace Martin) on one selection.

—TEENAGE BOTTLEROCKET— Teenage Bottlerocket have been making skatepark pop punk since the turn of the millennium. Formed in Wyoming by twin brothers Ray and Brandon Carlisle, the four-piece’s sound – especially on They Came From The Shadows (2009) and Tales From Wyoming (2015) – is heavily influenced by the work of the Ramones.

—FEA—San Antonio-based band Fea embody one of the most vital tenets of punk: total and unapologetic freedom, fearlessly expressed with both fury and joy. Produced by Chicana punk legend Alice Bag, their sophomore album No Novelties finds Fea following their instincts into entirely unexpected directions (e.g., covering an early-’90s pop anthem from Mexican superstar Gloria Trevi, trash-talking en Français on a yé-yé-inspired track called “Merde”). But even in its most playful moments, No Novelties channels a classic-punk ferocity, endlessly backing Fea’s sticky melodies with breakneck rhythms, blistering guitar riffs, and boldly nuanced vocal work.

—SAM RUSSO—Years ago, Brendan Kelly and Dan Andriano did a tour of Europe, and they brought back a buncha raunchy tales and a pile of band demos intended for Red Scare. As usual, we disregarded their dubious plunder, but they insisted we check out Sam Russo from the UK. “You’re gonna love this guy, he snuck into Cuba!” Not sure the Cuba part is true, but they were right about his songs. They said he was one of us: a solemn wiseass with a very unique sense of cadence and melody, setting him apart from all the other punk/solo stuff that was in our orbit. We’ve now done a handful of singles and EPs with the gent from East Anglia, and 2025’s Hold You Hard marks his fourth full length on Red Scare.

Russo doesn’t live in one of the chic punk hubs like Manchester or London, and boy does it show. For better or worse, Sam is an outsider from England’s hinterlands, and that’s reflected in his art. Themes of solitude persist, but in a plot twist that would confound Shyamalan… Sam has a fixation with American beach culture? Well, he’s a pasty Brit from the Suffolk wheat fields, so let a boy have his harmless dreams. Considering all the traveling he does (toured with Tim Barry, The Lawrence Arms, Lucero, and more), he’ll eventually find his way to the sea and surf that he dreams about in his verses.
